AceShowbiz - Wiz Khalifa is the latest hip-hop star weighing in on the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. During his appearance on Shannon Sharpe's "Club Shay Shay" podcast, Wiz shared his take on the hip-hop beef that recently turned into a legal drama.
After Drake's legal filings against Universal Music Group were brought up into the topic, Wiz said, "Bout time. I'm tired of n***as acting like they're cool with each other." The Pittsburgh rapper added, "Just speak how you really feel, bro."
Wiz additionally suggested that he wasn't entirely surprised by Drake's decision to sue UMG and Spotify for allegedly artificially boosting the popularity of Kendrick's "Not Like Us". "Naw, it sounds like a Drake move to me," the "See You Again" spitter said.
Of Drake, Wiz said, "He's a musician and a businessman in my eyes. So it's like, if he's not in the public eye winning musically, he's going to get win wherever he can. I mean it's a smart thing to do, in my opinion. They're playing it exactly how they're supposed to."
When asked if the feud is staged, the "On My Level" artist opined, "No, I don't think them n***as f**k with each other at all. I don't think none of them n***as like each other." He continued, "It's just how the industry is and all of that's coming to an end now, and it's all spilling out, and you got you're getting to see it."
"But this is also like wrestling as well, so the same people who are arguing can be like cool instantly," the rap legend divulged. "So it's like, don't get too caught up on the animosity part. Not them, but in general, but people will be hugging later."
Drake had sparked debate after he filed a lawsuit against UMG and Spotify over "Not Like Us". Previous report claimed that the "In My Feelings" hitmaker "is concerned Kendrick will perform 'Not Like Us' at the Super Bowl" in February 2025.
"Universal bosses are shocked that Drake is suing them, and some people suspect the lawsuit is an attempt to stop Kendrick from performing 'Not Like Us' at the event," a source claimed. Despite the legal action, the label allegedly "has no intention of ending its professional relationship with Drake over this."
