AceShowbiz - Whoopi Goldberg and Charlamagne Tha God put everyone in an awkward situation when they clashed in a new episode of "The View". In the Wednesday, December 4 episode of the talk show, the two TV personalities were involved in a heated argument when discussing President Joe Biden's decision to pardon his son Hunter.
Criticizing the POTUS and Democrats, CTG said in the episode, "Democrats stand on this moral high ground and, you know, they act so self-righteous." He added, "The reality is [Biden] didn't have to say anything in regards to whether or not his son wanted to be pardoned."
"The Breakfast Club" host then pointed out that Biden contradicted his own statement that "no one is above the law" with his controversial decision. Goldberg then interrupted him, saying, "I'm going to stop you for a second," shocking CTG.
"Only because you don't know that it was a lie. We don't know why he changed his mind. I think he changed his mind because he got sick of watching everybody else get over," she argued. "And this is just my feeling because at some point you get to a place where you just go, 'So I'm just going to follow the straight and narrow always,' because that is what is expected of Democrats."
CTG insisted that Democrats received criticism for projecting a self-righteous image as he noted that he wasn't angry about the pardon itself. Goldberg later asked the panel why Biden's pardon sparked controversy when Donald Trump didn't get backlash despite doing the same often.
CTG then said that political allegiance had become tribal, likening them to people who are rooting for a sports team. He additionally criticized both Democrats and Republicans for "refusing to be objective about anything."
Goldberg told him, "I'll tell when Democrats are wrong." When CTG asked if she didn't think Biden was wrong, she replied, "I don't."
"Well, that's ridiculous," CTG responded, prompting Goldberg to fire back at him by saying, "You're ridiculous." CTG explained, "I didn't say you're ridiculous, Miss Goldberg… I just think that's ridiculous."
The tense moment thankfully ended after Goldberg asked the radio host for a kiss. He complied as he came over to her and hugged her.
