AceShowbiz - Married stars Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos experienced some holiday tension during their Thanksgiving celebration. On the Monday, December 2 episode of "Live with Kelly and Mark", Ripa revealed that she and Consuelos had several "arguments" after he weighed in on her cooking.
Despite being home with all their kids-Michael, 27, Lola, 23, and Joaquin, 21-Ripa shared that they had a "lot of festive arguments."
The main bone of contention revolved around her mashed potatoes. Ripa explained that Consuelos, her husband of 28 years, arrived as an "honored guest" and expected the food to magically appear. However, he proceeded to complain about the excessive butter content.
Ripa's defense was that she placed a chunk of butter on top expecting it to melt, but Consuelos claimed she had scooped up the entire pat. Consuelos admitted to a passive-aggressive approach, displaying a "block of butter" on his plate seven minutes into dinner.
"Only after 28 years of marriage could you get away with, 'Did you put butter in this?'" Consuelos joked.
The culinary debates didn't end there. Ripa tasked Consuelos with operating the pizza oven but was disappointed with the results. Consuelos' pizzas, which he dubbed "Soup Pizza," were not to Ripa's liking. Despite her criticisms, Consuelos defended his creations, claiming they were "so thin, they weren't soupy this year."
Ripa revealed that she had discarded two of Consuelos' pizzas, to which he quipped, "Well two out of 12 isn't bad."
Despite the playful bickering, the couple acknowledged the joy of having their family home for the holidays. Ripa described it as "a lot of fun" and "a lot of laughs."
