After opening up about his personality disorder, Nick Cannon discusses his efforts to embrace mental well-being and admits that he needs 'help' on his self-healing journey.

AceShowbiz - In a candid revelation, Nick Cannon has admitted that he needs "help" after being diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). During an episode of his "Counsel Culture" podcast, and later while serving food at the Los Angeles Mission Thanksgiving charity event, Cannon opened up about how this diagnosis has shaped his daily life.

The 44-year-old entertainer shared, "I still don't understand it all the way, but I kind of always wanted to get tested for it. I did a bunch of tests." Alongside his NPD diagnosis, Cannon has also been diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia - a neurodivergent condition he has been aware of since childhood.

"I feel like there's so many labels out there, but it's like, to be able to embrace it and say, 'Look, I'm healing. I need help. Show me.' I just embrace mental health and therapy in such a strong way," he went on. "To be able to say I'm an example for others, but also be healing during the self-process works too."

Those with Narcissistic Personality Disorder often struggle with empathy and have an inflated sense of self-importance. Cannon, however, highlighted that while he identifies with most markers of NPD, he doesn't lack empathy or experience rage. Instead, he described his mental health condition as a spectrum that starts with "confidence, overconfident, arrogance" and can escalate to more extreme traits.

Cannon's approach to understanding his condition has been proactive. "I've taken all the power away from the term narcissism 'cause I've researched it and I understand it," he stated. Reflecting on his journey, he added, "Call me whatever you want… now if I didn't know what it was, then I have issue with it."

Embracing mental health and therapy has become central to Cannon's life. "I just embrace mental health and therapy in such a strong way," he said. "To be able to say I'm an example for others, but also be healing during the self-process works too."

Nick Cannon's busy life is not just defined by his career but also by his large family. He shares 12 children with six different women, including pop icon Mariah Carey. Explaining his schedule on Thanksgiving, Cannon joked, "It's very complicated. I'm a busy man. I'm going to be full by the end of the day, but everybody specializes in certain things."

Despite the challenges, Cannon is focused on becoming the best version of himself and serving as an inspirational figure for others who might be facing similar struggles. As he continues to balance his commitments, Cannon's story emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, education about mental health, and seeking professional help.
