On the day of the tragedy, Nores reportedly visited Payne at his hotel three times. Witnesses recall Payne's erratic behavior, including an alleged sex encounter with two escorts who claimed he asked for cocaine and became violent when they demanded payment. Nores returned to pay the escorts but left shortly after, allegedly leaving Payne intoxicated.
Hotel staff later heard breaking objects in Payne's room and observed him behaving bizarrely, which raised concerns about his well-being.
