AceShowbiz - The 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) promises to be a thrilling event, with Zach Bryan, Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen, and Sabrina Carpenter emerging as the leading finalists. Due to be hosted by actress and comedian Michelle Buteau, this year's awards show will broadcast live on FOX, Paramount+, and Amazon's Fire TV Channels on Thursday, December 12 at 8:00 PM ET/PT.

Among the nominees, Zach Bryan who was recently accused of emotional abuse by ex-girlfriend Brianna Chickenfry stands out as the front-runner with an impressive 21 nominations across 18 categories. His top nominations include Top Artist, Top Country Artist, and Top Rock Artist.

Taylor Swift follows closely behind with 17 nominations. As the most decorated female artist in BBMA history, Swift is poised to surpass Drake for the most all-time wins, with both artists currently tied at 39 wins each. Swift's nominations span various categories, including Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album for "The Tortured Poets Department", and "1989 (Taylor's Version)".

Morgan Wallen, who sparked backlash over his reckless drunken behaviors following latest arrest, is nominated in 15 categories this year. His collaboration with Post Malone for "I Had Some Help" garnered five nominations, including Top Collaboration and Top Country Song. Wallen's album "ONE THING AT A TIME" continues to break records, underpinning his dominance in the country music scene. Wallen led the 2023 BBMAs with 11 wins.

Sabrina Carpenter, a first-time BBMA finalist, has also made significant strides with nine nominations. Carpenter's chart-topping hits like "Espresso" and "Please Please Please" have earned her spots in major categories, such as Top Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist, and Top Billboard Global 200 Artist.

The 2024 BBMAs also see the introduction of new award categories: Top Hard Rock Album, Top Hard Rock Artist, and Top Hard Rock Song. HARDY, Falling in Reverse, and Linkin Park are notable finalists in these categories, reflecting the show's expanding recognition of diverse musical genres.

Other noteworthy nominees include Beyonce Knowles, who earned nominations across both country and electronic genres, and Dolly Parton, vying for Top Rock Album. The awards are determined by year-end performance metrics on Billboard charts from October 28, 2023, to October 19, 2024.
