AceShowbiz - The playoffs on "The Voice" have begun, and Coach Gwen Stefani is in the spotlight, faced with the significant task of selecting just two contestants from her team of five. The Tuesday, Nov. 19 episode was a rollercoaster of emotions for both Stefani and her team, as they delivered performances meant to secure their spots in the live shows.

Assisted by rapper Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) as her playoff advisor, Stefani watched closely as her team gave it their all. The contestants, Jose Luis, Jake Tankersley, Gabrielle Zabosky, Jan Dan and Sydney Sterlace, performed diverse and heart-wrenching songs that showcased their unique talents.

Jose Luis kicked off the night with a powerful rendition of Mary J. Blige's "No More Drama", a performance that highlighted his strong stage presence. Next up was Jake Tankersley, who sang Cody Johnson's "The Painter", bringing emotions to the surface as he reflected on his wife. Gabrielle Zabosky chose to perform Roxette's "Listen to Your Heart", while Jan Dan took on Kansas' "Dust in the Wind", moving Stefani to tears with his soulful rendition. The final performance was by Sydney Sterlace, who delivered a stunning version of Taylor Swift's "Betty", earning praise from fellow coach Michael Buble, who called her a "superstar."

Stefani described Jose Luis as an "unbelievably gifted" artist, praised Jake Tankersley as a "really good, classic country singer," noted Gabrielle Zabosky's "quirky" character, and expressed hope that Jan Dan would live up to the save she offered him. She deemed Sydney Sterlace as already "sparkling like a diamond."

The decision was agonizing for Stefani. "I feel proud, and I feel honored that each one of you guys let me hang out with you and help you. This is really, really difficult," Stefani said. She emphasized that whatever happens, this experience is a significant moment in their lives. Ultimately, Stefani had to go with her gut feelings for who she believed she could coach and help grow.

"The first person from Team Gwen that I'm picking is Jan Dan," Stefani revealed. Highlighting his unique taste and perspective, she believed he deserved the chance to share that with America in the live shows. Her second pick was Sydney Sterlace, the artist who moved her deeply and left her wanting more. "I had to go with Sydney. It was just a gut feeling."

Now, as the live shows approach, Team Gwen will be represented by the distinct talents of Jan Dan and Sydney Sterlace. Their journey forward promises to be just as emotionally charged and riveting as the path that led them here.
