AceShowbiz - Country music singer Jamey Johnson landed in jail. Tennessee Highway Patrol officers initially apprehended Johnson in Williamson County for speeding. Following further investigation, drug possession was added to his charges.

Following November 17 arrest, he was charged with speeding and possession of drugs "with intent to manufacture, deliver, or sell the controlled substance." This constitutes a Class E felony, punishable by a fine of up to $5,000. Johnson was released from jail on Monday after posting a $5,000 bond.

Johnson, known for his iconic songs "In Color" and "The Dollar," has a long history of songwriting for country greats such as Willie Nelson and George Strait. Despite his success, Johnson has candidly discussed his ongoing struggle with sobriety. In his recent album, "Midnight Gasoline," he released the song "Sober," reflecting on the challenges of maintaining sobriety in an industry where drinking is prevalent.

In a September press release for "Sober," Johnson acknowledged, "I am 13 years sober now... I haven't had a drop of alcohol since 2011, and I know that could end this afternoon." He further explained, "It is a day-to-day, hour-to-hour decision."

Johnson's arrest serves as a reminder of the complexities of addiction and the ongoing battles faced by those in recovery. His legal case is scheduled for court on February 6, 2025.
