AceShowbiz - Jamie Foxx, 56, has unveiled the motto that has guided him since surviving a near-fatal "medical complication" 19 months ago. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Foxx wrote, "No bad dayz."

"This is my mantra after surviving something that I thought I would never go through," he explained. The phrase was given to Foxx by his friend and manager, James V. Barnett.

Foxx's medical emergency occurred in April 2023 while he was filming the Netflix movie "Back in Action" in Atlanta. The actor described the ordeal in a July video, revealing that he experienced a "bad headache" and lost 20 days of memory.

Despite the severity of his condition, Foxx emerged from the darkness with a renewed perspective. "When you come through the darkness, the light looks brighter," he wrote. "And while I'm at it, I want to say thank you to everyone that sent up a prayer. I needed it."

Foxx has found solace in his work, particularly in his upcoming Netflix comedy special, "Jamie Foxx: What Happened Was". Premiering on December 10, the special will explore his harrowing experience.

"I haven't been on stage in 18 years, but I needed the stage and I needed an audience that was made up of nothing but pure love," Foxx expressed. "When people ask me is this a stand-up comedy show, I say, 'No, it's an artistic explanation of something that went terribly wrong.' "

Off-screen, Foxx has received support from his daughters, Corinne Foxx and Anelise Foxx, and his girlfriend, Alyce Huckstepp. The lifelong bachelor reflected on his journey at the Critics Choice Association event in December, stating, "I cherish every single minute now. I wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy."

Foxx's near-death experience has left an indelible mark on him. He urges his fans to watch his special if they "need a spiritual tune-up right now." He will also reunite with Cameron Diaz in the Netflix film "Back in Action", streaming from January 17, 2025.
