AceShowbiz - Actress and singer Selena Gomez used her social media platforms to encourage people to stay in line and vote on Election Day, even if the lines were long. On Tuesday night, November 5, Gomez posted a video on Twitter and her X account, urging people to remain in line.
"Hey guys, I hear that there are really, really long lines today, and I just wanted to make this video really quick to say, please stay in the line," she said to the camera while going bareface.
Gomez emphasized the importance of voting, saying, "Long lines are really frustrating and annoying, and I know they're not fun, but we need your voice and vote for your future." She also reminded people that if they were in line before the polls closed, they had a legal right to vote and that polls would stay open until everyone in line had voted.
Gomez's video was met with positive responses from fans, who thanked her for encouraging voting without pushing either of the candidates.
In addition to her Election Day message, Gomez also shared a TikTok video on October 29 showing herself dropping off her ballot while wearing a red dress before attending the premiere of "Wizards Beyond Waverly Place".
Gomez has received critical acclaim for her role in the musical thriller "Emilia Perez" and will return as Mabel Mora in the hit Hulu series "Only Murders in the Building".
