AceShowbiz - There is still bad blood between Drake and Future, according to DJ Akademiks. On Saturday night, November 2, Ak claimed that the two rap stars have yet to resolve their issues, despite Elliott Wilson claiming the opposite.
Citing "extremely credible" sources, Ak claimed that there is still tension between the "What a Time to Be Alive" collaborators. "Big shoutout to my man Elliott Wilson, but with all due respect, I've spoken to extremely credible sources on both sides, and Drake and Future has not been on the phone," Ak said.
He went on explaining, "So, not too sure who gave Elliott Wilson the authority to say this, but from what I hear that is not true, that is 100% cap. Now, I'm not gonna say Elliott Wilson is contorting or misrepresenting."
Elliott, meanwhile, made the claims in a recent episode of "The Bigger Picture". "I have it on good authority that Drake and Future have at least gotten on the phone and resolved their differences," he said at the time.
The veteran hip-hop journalist suggested that Young Thug's recent social media post, in which he urged Drake, Future and Metro Boomin to make amends, played a big role in the truce. In his post on X, Thugger wrote, "@Drake @1future @MetroBoomin we all bruddas. Music aint the same without us collabin."
"I think that helped the energy when Future reposted it," Elliott shared. The journalist, however, noted that Metro wasn't involved in the peace talks. "There's no trust there still with Metro, but I do believe that Drake and Future are back on the same page," he joked.
Elliott added that Drake and Future's alleged reconciliation wasn't that surprising. "Obviously we know that Drake and Future have so much history. Drake was the one saying, 'We never really went through it.' [Future] got the lightest of all the taps in the one v. 20, so it makes sense in some capacity," the former XXL editor-in-chief concluded.
