In the photos, Moore appears utterly transformed, donning heavy makeup, prosthetics, and glasses that make her resemble a frail, elderly woman. The gruesome details include saggy body parts and minimal hair, giving fans a glimpse of the intense physical transformation required for the role.

In "The Substance," Moore's character Elisabeth is introduced to a black market drug that allows her to create a younger version of herself, portrayed by Margaret Qualley.
