AceShowbiz - Hoda Kotb, the renowned co-anchor of NBC's "Today" show, is gearing up to leave her role at the beginning of 2025. While fans may miss seeing her every morning, Kotb has already charted an inspiring first day off, packed with familial joy and personal enrichment. During her time at Miraval Austin for her "Making Space: A Wellness Weekend" event, Kotb discussed her upcoming transition with PEOPLE.
"A good friend of mine said, 'Plan out your first day after. Plan it out because it will help you.' So I have already made my little idea," Kotb, 60, shared. Embracing this advice, Kotb's day is set to begin later than her usual 3:00 A.M. alarm. "There is a 5:30 SoulCycle class in my town. I'm going to go to my 5:30. So I'm sleeping in," she explained.
Her plan continues with a focus on family, as she looks forward to feeding her daughters, Haley and Hope, breakfast and walking them to school. "I am going to walk with them to school, which is going to be one of the most amazing things. Small, but amazing," she described.
After her morning family time, Kotb is diving into her next passion: the wellness space. She's excited about working on an app and retreats, similar to her wellness weekend event in Austin that featured notable guests like Maria Shriver and Jamie Kern Lima. "It's all going to be all the nourishing stuff. So I will do a few hours of work," she noted.
