AceShowbiz - Snoop Dogg has officially announced that his 20th studio album, "Missionary," will be released on December 13 via Death Row Records. The album will mark the first time Dr. Dre has produced a full-length project for Snoop since his 1993 debut album, "Doggystyle."
In a playful social media trailer, Snoop teased the album as a cheekily-titled sequel to "Doggystyle." The trailer features two Mormon missionaries arriving at the door of a woman dressed in lingerie, who confronts them about their misleading advertisement for "missionary work."
Dre has described the album as a project that showcases "a different level of maturity with his lyrics and with my music." He has also hinted at an "amazing roster" of guest artists on the album, including Sting and Jelly Roll.
Jelly Roll confirmed his involvement in an interview, describing their collaboration as "special" and "really good." Interscope's Jimmy Iovine reportedly coordinated a FaceTime call between Jelly Roll and Dre to initiate the songwriting process.
Snoop Dogg's last album was 2022's "BODR" (Bacc on Death Row), which marked his acquisition of the iconic label where he established his career. The rapper has expressed his excitement about owning the label and regaining control of his legacy.
