AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez is making headlines for inadvertently bringing up Sean "P. Diddy" Combs. The singer/actress has been left mortified after making a tiny slip that had to with the embattled rapper during a speech at her charity event on Thursday night, October 24 in Los Angeles.
The former Disney darling was dressed to the nines as she stood at a podium speaking in front of a few hundred guests at her Rare Impact Fund Benefit at Nya Studios West when she made the embarrassing blunder. In her speech, she addressed the mission of her charity, which works with the Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services (DHMS) to help prevent suicide among youths.
"They are committed to youth mental health, from suicide prevention training in schools to their drop-in center here in L.A., and their Teen Line lifeline," Selena said of the charity as seen in a video obtained and shared by TMZ on Friday. "I am very honored to be working with such incredible changemakers."
The "Only Murders in the Building" actress then introduced the executive director of DHMS, Didi, to the stage. However, she pronounced her name "Diddy" instead of the center's name, pronounced "dee-dee."
In the clip, the crowd erupted into laughter following Selena's snafu. The "Wolves" singer looked embarrassed, letting out a sheepish smile while telling the audience, "I really am sorry." She then invited the exec Lyn Morris and another DHMS executive to the podium and greeted each other with hugs.
The snafu aside, Selena appeared to have a pretty good night at the event. The "Monte Carlo" actress was joined by her boyfriend Benny Blanco, who supported the fundraiser by offering a live cooking session with him. The couple was seen snuggling up and the record producer was at one point spotted planting a kiss on his girlfriend's cheek.
Diddy is currently in jail after being arrested and charged for alleged sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. The hip-hop mogul has been linked to Selena's ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber as the two singers were spotted partying together over 10 years ago.
