AceShowbiz - "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" introduced Halle Berry as Sofia Al-Azwar, a former associate of Keanu Reeves' John Wick. Despite her absence in "Chapter 4", director Chad Stahelski recently revealed that a Sofia-led spin-off remains a promising prospect.
"I'd work with Halle any chance I got," said Stahelski, director of the "John Wick" films. "She's always on our mind... She's awesome."
Berry has also expressed interest in returning to the franchise, stating that there have been discussions with Lionsgate regarding a potential spin-off.
"We talked about it in 'John Wick: Chapter 3', and we've talked about a spinoff with Lionsgate that could potentially happen," Berry said.
The "John Wick" franchise is expanding rapidly, with several projects in development. A Donnie Yen-led Caine spin-off has been confirmed, and an Ana de Armas-starring "Ballerina" film is set to release in 2025. A "John Wick" animated project is also in the works.
Stahelski emphasized that fans can expect a "completely different storyline" for a potential "John Wick 5". "It would not be part of that ['Chapter 4'] storyline," said Stahelski. "It would not be what you think it is."
While "John Wick: Chapter 5" has yet to be officially greenlit, it remains in active development. The franchise universe continues to grow with spin-offs like "Under the High Table" and "John Wick Presents: Ballerina".
As the world of assassins in the "John Wick" universe expands, fans eagerly anticipate the return of Berry's Sofia and the potential for further explorations of the franchise's intricate lore.
