AceShowbiz - Shawn Mendes apparently addressed the gay rumors surrounding him on a new song. The 26-year-old Canadian singer treated his fans to a preview of his upcoming song "The Mountain" at his concert.

In a video posted on TikTok, Shawn could be seen singing the song in front of his fans. "Some days, I have a change of heart/ You can say what you need to say," he sang.

The "Stitches" hitmaker later addressed speculations on his sexuality. "You can say I'm too young/ You can I'm too old/ You can say I like girls or boys/ Whatever fits your mold,' " he serenaded.

Prior to this, Shawn shut down rumors that he's gay in a Snapchat post. In the 2016 message, the former boyfriend of Camila Cabello said, "So I don't usually do this and bring up problems, but I was on YouTube just watching some of my interviews, and I was going down the comments and noticed a lot of people were saying that I gave them a 'gay vibe.' "

He continued, "First of all, I'm not gay. Second of all, it shouldn't make a difference if I was or if I wasn't. The focus should be on the music and not my sexuality."

When it comes to his dating life, Shawn was briefly linked to Sabrina Carpenter following his split from Camila. Shawn, however, denied their dating rumors during a podcast interview, saying, "We are not dating but I think we should talk about Tommy Hilfiger probably more than Sabrina," he said back in March. The next month, Camila and Shawn were snapped packing on PDA at Coachella, though their rekindled romance was short-lived.

Sabrina, meanwhile, seemingly shaded Camila and Shawn on her new single "Taste". "I heard you're back together and if that's true/ you'll just have to taste me when he's kissin' you," the "Please Please Please" hitmaker sang.
