AceShowbiz - FOX is developing a new drama series titled "Billionaire Apocalypse", from "The Morning Show" creator Jay Carson. The project, which has received a script commitment, is being written and executive produced by Carson and counts Hugh Jackman among its executive producers.
The drama follows the richest man on the planet, 200 of his employees, and his family as they are forced to flee to his private island in the wake of a global financial collapse. However, the employees and family members, who have been treated as afterthoughts for decades, quickly realize that he's no longer rich and thus no longer in charge.
Lawrence Bender ("Pulp Fiction") and Kevin Brown ("Flesh and Bone") will also serve as executive producers. No cast is attached as of yet.
Carson, in addition to creating "The Morning Show," served as a supervising producer on Netflix's "House of Cards". He is currently working on multiple movies and TV shows, including an hourlong drama starring Judith Light and a feature starring and directed by Josh Brolin.
Bender's credits include films like "Inglorious Bastards" and "Good Will Hunting", while Brown has produced "Flesh and Bone" and "Trumbo."
Jackman, fresh off the success of "Deadpool & Wolverine", will not star in the series but is involved as an executive producer.
