Actress Lea Thompson makes use of her social media accoun to publicly denounce her former fiance, Dennis Quaid, for his support of the former president of the United States.

AceShowbiz - Lea Thompson weighed in on her ex-fiance Dennis Quaid's political views. On Saturday, October 12, Quaid spoke at a Trump campaign rally in California, urging the crowd to choose between "the Constitution or TikTok."

Thompson responded on X (formerly Twitter) with a video of Quaid's speech. She also added a confused face emoji and the hashtags "#VoteBlueToStopTheStupid" and "#CrimeIsActuallyDown."

Thompson was engaged to Quaid for five years before their breakup in 1987. She met her current husband, Howard Deutch, in 1986, and they married in 1989.

In May, Quaid had announced his intention to vote for Trump, citing concerns about the "weaponization of the justice system." During his rally speech, he also criticized the "fairy tale" of the Biden-Harris administration and praised Trump's foreign policy, particularly his role in the Abraham Accords.

Thompson's tweet reflected her opposition to Trump, particularly his stance on immigration. Quaid had shared a story about his undocumented housekeeper, whom he said he helped become a U.S. citizen after Trump's election.

Thompson's criticism is a reminder of the deep political divisions that exist in the United States. California, where Thompson lives, is typically a blue state, while Trump's support base is primarily in more conservative areas.
