As Halsey builds up to the release of her upcoming album, she's paying homage to music legends, including Dolly Parton, through a unique Instagram campaign.

AceShowbiz - The countdown to "The Great Impersonator" has officially begun! Set to be released on October 25, Halsey's new album promises not only new music but also a fascinating buildup. To celebrate, the singer/songwriter is showcasing her impersonation skills by embodying different icons each day. These impersonations serve as teasers for the new tracks inspired by these legends.

In the initial post of this unique campaign, Halsey has chosen to channel none other than country music legend Dolly Parton. In a series of Instagram photos, Halsey is seen dressed as Parton from her 1987 "Rainbow" album cover, complete with Parton's iconic black and gold outfit and big curly blonde hair. The resemblance is uncanny, and it marks the first of many tributes.

Halsey wrote along with the photos, "The countdown to The Great Impersonator begins. From now till the album drops on October 25th, I will be impersonating a different icon every day and teasing a snippet of the song they inspired." She added, "THE GREAT IMPERSONATOR #1: the queen DOLLY PARTON !!!!!! TRACK 9: HOMETOWN." The Instagram post also included a short snippet of the song "Hometown", featuring lyrics that reflect on the passage of time and the American dream.

"The Great Impersonator" will be Halsey's fifth studio album, following "If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power" from 2021, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. This new album features a whopping 18 new songs, including previously-released tracks like "Lucky", "Lonely Is the Muse" and "Ego". According to Halsey, the project is deeply personal. "I made this record in the space between life and death, and it feels like I’ve waited an eternity for you to have it," the artist shared. "I've waited a decade, already."

As Halsey continues to roll out her campaign, fans can expect to see impersonations of different artists, spanning multiple decades and musical styles. Earlier this month, Halsey even engaged her fans in a scavenger hunt to reveal multiple variants of "The Great Impersonator" cover, each inspired by different time periods.

Stay tuned as Halsey continues to unveil new icons and snippets in the lead-up to the full album release. With such a unique and personal project on the horizon, "The Great Impersonator" is poised to be another major milestone in Halsey's career.
