AceShowbiz - Following last week's hiatus, "Dancing with the Stars" returned twice this week, on Monday, October 7 and Tuesday, October 8. In the Monday episode, the celebrity contestants celebrated Soul Train Night as Rosie Perez joined as the guest judge.
Kicking off the night was Phaedra Parks, who danced a Quickstep with her pro partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy to "Think" by Aretha Franklin. Bruno Tonioli advised Phaedra to lift and open up her frame. Carrie Ann Inaba loved how smooth and silky Phaedra was when she danced, but the judge noticed her footwork problems. "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star got 30 out of 40.
Following it up was Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten, who hit the ballroom to dance a Foxtrot to "Lady Marmalade" by LaBelle. Carrie Ann applauded Ilona for her improvement. Rosie told Ilona that she did a wonderful job, while Bruno pointed out her mistake. Ilona received 30 out of 40.
Eric Roberts and Britt Stewart performed next, dancing a Foxtrot to "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green. Rosie said she was proud of him for coming out in front of the world after suffering an injury. Bruno told Eric that he's more at ease and connected this time. The judges gave Eric 24 out of 30.
Later, Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold performed before the judges. The pair opted for a Quickstep to Stevie Wonder's "Superstition". Bruno said while it had the springy quality of the quickstep, Stephen needed to work on his timing and musicality. Carrie Ann, meanwhile, pointed out that Stephen got ahead of the beat when he got excited halfway through his performance. He got 30 out of 40.
As for Brooks Nader and her partner Gleb Savchenko, they hit the dance floor for a Rumba to "Sexual Healing" by Marvin Gaye. "That dance made me pregnant," Derek joked. Rosie, on the other hand, told Brooks to use the entire body in her expression. The pair was given 28 out of 40.
Dancing a Jive to The Isley Brothers' "Shout" were Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson. Carrie Ann loved how it was sharp and clean with great partnership. Rosie applauded their "amazing" sex appeal, while Derek thought it had so much content. Joey got 34 out of 40.
Following it up, Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach danced a Cha Cha to "Let's Groove" by Earth, Wind & Fire. Carrie Ann said that the performance was hard to watch, with Rosie telling Dwight to work harder. Bruno encouraged Dwight to work on his technique, while Derek praised his performance quality and crowd appeal. The judges gave Dwight 23 out of 40.
Later, Danny Amendola danced a Foxtrot to "Dancing Machine" by Jackson 5 alongside his partner Witney Carson. Rosie thought Danny could do better if he was more confident. Bruno said Danny needed to learn to be more lyrical, while Carrie Ann praised Danny for his cleaner and sharper movements. Danny got 30 out of 40.
Reginald VelJohnson, on the other hand, hoped to impress the judges by dancing a Foxtrot to "I Can See Clearly Now" by Johnny Nash alongside his partner Emma Slater. Bruno thought it was a good semi-trot, while Carrie Ann thought it was sweet and innocent. Rosie applauded Reginald for capturing people's hearts. Reginald received 21 out of 40.
The next pair was Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber, who danced a Viennese Waltz to "Fallin' " by Alicia Keys. Bruno called their routine the sexiest Viennese waltz he's ever seen. Carrie Ann loved their great chemistry, while Rosie thought it was hot, fly and all that. Jenn was given 31 out of 40.
Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong concluded the night with a Cha Cha to "It's Tricky" by Run-D.M.C. Rosie said the routine personified the feeling of soul and soul train. Bruno thought it had style, content, technique and star quality, while Carrie Ann said she could see their amazing partnership. Chandler got 36 out of 40.
No one was eliminated that night as the episode was pre-taped.
