'The Masked Singer' Recap: Sitcom Star Unveiled as Showbird on 'Footloose Night'

In a new episode, 'The Masked Singer' celebrates the 40th anniversary of 'Footloose' with performances by the contestants and a special message from Kevin Bacon.

Robin Thicke kicked off the Wednesday, October 2 episode with a rendition of Kenny Loggins' "Footloose". Kevin Bacon, who starred in the film, expressed his gratitude for the tribute.

Showbird took the stage first, singing "Let's Hear It For the Boy" by Deniece Williams. Ship followed with "Almost Paradise" by Mike Reno and Ann Wilson. Woodpecker performed "Holding Out For a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler, while Buffalos closed the show with "Waiting for a Girl Like You" by Foreigner.

After the performances, the panelists guessed who was behind the masks. Ken Jeong confidently declared that Showbird was his "Community" co-star, Yvette Nicole Brown. Robin Thicke agreed with Jeong, while Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg guessed Taraji P. Henson and Rita Ora picked Sheila E.

Jeong's prediction was correct, as Showbird was unmasked to reveal Yvette Nicole Brown. Brown explained that she had been asked to do the show for years but had always declined. However, she was ready to embrace the challenge this year.

Brown shared her love for singing and thanked Jeong for his support. Jeong praised her as a close friend and family member. Ora commended her powerful voice, and the other panelists expressed their admiration.
