AceShowbiz - Kathie Lee Gifford has expressed her support and admiration for Hoda Kotb following her announcement that she will be leaving the "Today" show in early 2025.

Gifford, who co-hosted the fourth hour of "Today" with Kotb from 2008 to 2019, posted a message on her social media account on Friday, September 27. She wrote: "Bittersweet news as my dear friend @hodakotb steps away from the Today Show. Her warmth, laughter, and incredible spirit have brightened our mornings and touched countless hearts. Here's to new adventures!"

Kotb tearfully announced her departure from the morning show on Thursday after 26 years at NBC. She shared that turning 60 and reflecting on her life had prompted her to "turn the page" and prioritize her family, particularly her daughters, Haley and Hope.

Gifford called Kotb's decision "bittersweet" and accompanied her message with throwback photos of the duo during their time hosting the fourth hour of "Today." The two remain close friends, with Gifford often appearing on the show to promote her projects.

Kotb has spoken frequently about the importance of her loved ones, especially her daughters. She became a mother after adopting Haley and Hope in 2017 and 2019, respectively.

Jenna Bush Hager, who has co-hosted with Kotb since 2019, couldn't hold back tears when discussing her friend's departure. "Hoda told me just a couple days ago, and when she told me, my first reaction was from my gut and it was almost crazy... I said, 'No, you can't leave,'" she said on "Today With Hoda & Jenna."

Kotb's departure has been met with an outpouring of support from coworkers and fans who have witnessed her various roles within NBC News for nearly 30 years. While she will no longer be a daily presence on "Today," Kotb has confirmed that she will continue to maintain a relationship with the network and make special appearances in the future.
