Meanwhile, 'Hacks' comes out as the surprise winner of the Outstanding Comedy series award, beating out previous winner 'The Bear', as it marks its third victory of the night.

AceShowbiz - The 76th annual Primetime Emmy Awards revealed its full winners on Sunday, September 15. "Shogun", "The Bear" and "Baby Reindeer" came out as the biggest winners at the ceremony, hosted by Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, as the three shows took home four prizes each.

After winning best directing in a drama series, "Shogun" earned its second award when star Hiroyuki Sanada was named as the winner of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Hiroyuki, who played Lord Yoshii Toranaga on the hit series, received his first Emmy award after besting out other nominees including Idris Elba ("Hijack"), Donald Glover ("Mr. & Mrs. Smith"), Walter Goggins ("Fallout"), Gary Oldman ("Slow Horses") and Dominic West ("The Crown").

"It was an East-meets-West dream project with respect. And 'Shogun' taught me that when people work together, we can make miracle. We can create a better future together," Hiroyuki, who also served as the show's producer, said in his speech. "Thank you so much."

"Shogun" showed its dominance when star Anna Sawai was honored with Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series prize. As she received the coveted prize, Anna admitted that she "was crying before [her] name was announced." She also thanked her family, especially her mom.

The victory marked Anna's first Emmy win. Additionally, the actress, who played Toda Mariko on the series, made history as the first woman of Asian descent to win in the category.

That wasn't the end of the celebratory moment for "Shogun". The series, which was based on the 1975 novel by James Clavell, took home one of the biggest prizes that night, Outstanding Drama Series. It won the award over "The Crown", "Fallout", "The Gilded Age", "The Morning Show", "Mr. & Mrs. Smith", "Slow Horses" and "3 Body Problem".

Not stopping there, the Japan-American-Canadian collab has broken the record for most Emmy wins for one season of television. In addition to the 14 Creative Arts Emmy wins, the show set a new Emmy record with 18 Awards in one season.

"Hacks", meanwhile, took home a surprise best comedy series win, its third victory that night. It beat out "The Bear", which won the category last year, "Abbott Elementary", "Curb Your Enthusiasm", "Only Murders in the Building", "Palm Royale", "Reservation Dogs" and "What Do We Do in the Shadows".
