The 'Fast and Furious' actor finds himself being handcuffed and escorted to jail by police following a hearing due to his refusal to pay court-ordered child support.

AceShowbiz - Tyrese Gibson was arrested on Monday morning, September 9 for failing to pay the court-ordered child support to his ex-wife, Samantha Lee. The arrest comes after months of mounting tension and public drama surrounding his failure to meet his financial obligations.

Gibson appeared before Judge Kevin Farmer in a Fulton County courtroom, where he was held in contempt of court for not paying the $10,000 monthly child support mandated back in April 2023. Frustrations boiled over as Judge Farmer, fed up with Gibson's noncompliance, had him handcuffed and escorted out of the courtroom.

To avoid jail time, Judge Farmer stipulated that Gibson must pay $73,000, which includes $7,500 for Lee's attorney fees. According to TMZ, Gibson is currently making arrangements to settle the debt.

The arrest did not come as a total surprise to the actor or his fans. Tyrese had warned on social media over the weekend that he might be apprehended. In a since-deleted Instagram post, he accused Judge Farmer and Lee's legal team of colluding against him. "Samantha's lawyer Adam Gleklen and William Alexander who are besties with the judge Kevin M Farmer [collusion]," he wrote.

Gibson, who shares 5-year-old daughter Soraya with Lee, pointed to what he perceives as systemic bias against fathers in family law courts. "It's pretty clear that they hate my guts," he wrote.

Gibson has not completely shirked his financial responsibilities. Reports indicate he has been paying $2,200 per month in child support, a far cry from the $10,000 ordered by the court. The actor argued that there was a detailed prenuptial agreement that should have governed the financial aspects of his divorce.

In a 15-minute video posted on Sunday, Gibson suggested that gender discrimination was tinting the proceedings. "When you were born a man, you go into a courtroom and you understand clearly that there is a preset menu that says, 'You were born a man, f**k you,' " he stated.

While Gibson wrestles with these legal and emotional challenges, his supporters hold out hope that he will soon settle his debt and avoid further jail time. The drama underscores the complexity of family law, the profound emotional stakes involved, and the challenges inherently faced by parents navigating these turbulent waters.
