AceShowbiz - Eminem is set to open the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards and perform material from his latest album, "The Death of Slim Shady", for the first time on television. He is nominated for eight VMAs this year, including Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Hip-Hop, and Song of the Summer for "Houdini." If he wins just one award, he will break the record for most wins by a solo male artist in VMA history.
Eminem has a long history with the VMAs, having performed several times before. Notably, in 2000, he delivered a memorable performance of "Real Slim Shady" and "The Way I Am" with over 100 lookalikes. This iconic performance is nominated for one of the new VMAs prizes this year, Most Iconic Performance.
Joining Eminem on the performance lineup are Sabrina Carpenter, Chappel Roan, Halsey, Karol G, LL Cool J, Shawn Mendes, Lisa, Rauw Alejandro, GloRilla, Anitta, and Benson Boone. Katy Perry will perform upon receiving the Video Vanguard award, as will Megan Thee Stallion, who's also hosting the show.
The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards will take place live from Long Island's UBS Arena on Wednesday, September 11, at 8 p.m. ET.
