Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has announced she will miss the remainder of her rookie season after it's reported that the WNBA rookie suffered a wrist injury.

AceShowbiz - On Saturday, September 7, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese stunned fans with the news that she won't be playing for the reminder of her rookie season. The announcement came after reports that Reese was questionable for Sunday's game against the Dallas Wings due to a wrist injury.

In a lengthy statement on social media, Reese expressed both gratitude and disappointment. "What a year. I never would have imagined the last bucket of my rookie season would be a 3 but maybe that was God saying give them a taste of what they will be seeing more of in Year 2 lol," she wrote.

Despite the setback, Reese emphasized her determination to continue making an impact in the WNBA. "Through it all, I have showed that I belong in this league even when no one else believed. All I have ever wanted was to come into the W and make an impact. I can confidently say I have done that and will strive to keep doing so," she stated.

Reese, who was drafted seventh overall by the Sky after a stellar season at LSU, made history this season. She set a WNBA record with 15 consecutive double-doubles and currently leads the league with 26 double-doubles. Reese's rookie season averages include 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game.

Despite the Sky's current eighth place in the standings, Reese vowed to continue supporting her teammates from the bench. "You'll still see me being the biggest cheerleader on the sideline! And Unrivaled league, see you soon!" she concluded.
