AceShowbiz - Jenn Tran opened up about her dramatic breakup with Devin Strader and the aftermath that has dominated social media chats in a recent interview. Following her proposal to Devin on the 21st season finale of "The Bachelorette", Jenn called out Devin's behavior, mentioning that he followed Bachelor Nation's Maria Georgas right after their engagement ended over a brief 15-minute phone call.
Addressing her comments about Maria during the "After the Final Rose" special, Jenn clarified that it was aimed at highlighting Devin's lack of consideration. "When I had mentioned her name on stage, I knew it was going to make this big splash, but for me it was important to highlight the ways in which Devin disrespected me," Jenn explained to PEOPLE.
Jenn emphasized that Maria was not at fault. "She's a lot smarter than Devin," she said. "I know that she wouldn't have done anything with it anyways. But it was the fact in which he had tried is what is disappointing to me." Despite the drama, Jenn admitted that Maria has not reached out to her personally but reassured that she has no hard feelings towards Maria.
Maria previously addressed the situation on social media, seeking to clear up misunderstandings. "I'm over coming to defense for my character," Maria said. "I know who I am and my friends and family know who I am... I understand Jenn having to speak up about it - say your piece, girlfriend, I respect it."
Maria revealed that she hadn't noticed Devin's follow until others pointed it out and made it clear that she never interacted with him, "Let me clear the air on something: I have never met Devin beforeā¦ I never went clubbing out with [Devin]."
Amid all this, someone unexpected offered support to Jenn - Sam M., a fellow contestant who had previously warned her about Devin. "Sam reached out to me and sent me a message, which honestly was very nice," she admitted.
The reality TV world can be tumultuous, and this breakup has proven no different, with rumors and truths clashing on social media. For now, "The Bachelorette" drama finds its place in pop culture, available to stream on Hulu.
