Malik Obama, the half-brother of the former U.S. president, comes under fire for endorsing the Republican presidential nominee despite his controversial policies.

AceShowbiz - Barack Obama's brother has made it clear that he's not on the same page with the former president when it comes to politics. Malik Obama, the half-brother of the former U.S. president, has publicly endorsed Donald Trump, sparking a flurry of criticism on social media.

Malik first threw shade at Barack by posted a throwback photo of himself and his half-brother on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday, September 3. He captioned it, "Fake A** when we were brothers."

The next day, he made it clear whom he will be voting for at the upcoming election by declaring, "I am Malik Obama. I'm a registered Republican and I'm voting for President Donald Trump."

He seemingly also took issue with Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris' stance on abortion. "Kamala Harris running on the platform of abortion!?" he wrote in all caps.

Malik quickly caught heat for endorsing Donald despite the Republican presidential nominee's ban on Muslims entering the U.S., which contrasts with his own background, during his first presidency. Someone wrote on X, "Mfs like Malik Obama is the reason why I don't claim half siblings! Get your stalking obsessed a** on somewhere & find a f**king hobby besides talking about your half brother nonstop!"

Another was seemingly not surprised, pointing out that Malik once used Barack for clout during his own run for office in Kenya, but later turned his back against his younger brother. "Tell me you asked for money and were turned down w/o telling me," the said user alleged.

Mocking Malik, a third critic remarked, "And that's why your brother was president, not you. Tragic." Another refused to acknowledge him as part of the Obama family, saying, "The ONLY Obamas we know and claim are Barack, Michelle, Malia and Sasha. That's it, that's all."

"Nobody give af about who Malik Obama gon vote for," a fifth person said. Someone else likened Malik to "Scar from Lion King."

Malik, who once served as the best man at Barack's wedding and received a similar honor in return, has seen their relationship get strained over the years. He supported Donald in 2016 and was among the special guests invited to a Las Vegas debate by the Trump campaign.

"I like Donald Trump because he speaks from the heart," he told the New York Post in 2016. "Make America Great Again is a great slogan. I would like to meet him." He has cited several reasons for his support of Donald, including his opposition to same-sex marriage, dissatisfaction with his brother's presidency and his past friendship with former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

"I still feel that getting rid of [Gaddafi] didn't make things any better in Libya," he said. "My brother and the Secretary of State disappointed me in that regard." He added in the same interview, "Honestly, I'll be happy when my brother is out of office, and I will finally be out of the limelight and be able to live like a human being."
