AceShowbiz - Rachael Ray, the beloved TV personality known for her quick and easy recipes, has ignited worry among her followers after posting a video where she appeared to slur her speech. The clip was a preview from her FYI series "Rachael Ray in Tuscany", in which she paid tribute to the late Tony Bennett by making his favorite dish, ossobuco. Her emotional retelling of a dinner incident with the jazz legend led fans to flood the comments with concern.
In the video, Ray shares a story about how she almost caused a mishap for Bennett when he slipped and hit his head on her marble counter. While reminiscing about the late singer, she appeared to run her words together. This prompted some fans to speculate about possible medical issues, with suggestions ranging from a mini-stroke to Bell’s palsy. "Part of her mouth seems sinking. When was this? I haven't seen her this makes me so sad," commented one concerned viewer on Instagram.
Despite the flood of comments, Ray has not addressed the speculation directly. The 56-year-old celebrity chef's rep told TMZ she had "no comment" about the matter, and she attempted to change the subject by posting her old recipe for shrimp and chorizo paella, which includes a half cup of dry sherry or white wine.
However, this did little to quell the growing anxiety among her 9.2 million followers. "I love her and yes, she's drunk," commented one user, while another noted, "She looks and acts like she has been drinking all the time."
Some of Ray's followers defended her, attributing any changes in her appearance or demeanor to age and stress rather than health issues. "People leave her alone, menopause hits us all different. Instead of putting her down, enjoy the scrumptious food and fun stories," wrote a supportive fan. Others noted the emotional nature of her storytelling as a possible cause for the slurred speech.
This isn't the first time Rachael Ray has transitioned through significant changes. Last year, she concluded her long-running daytime talk show after 17 successful seasons. This move came after a tumultuous year in which she and her husband John Cusimano faced a series of personal challenges, including losing their home to an accidental fire and enduring the loss of their beloved dog Isaboo.
Currently, Ray is busy with her latest ventures, including Free Food Studios, which she co-founded and recently sold a 50% stake to A&E Networks. Fans can look forward to new content, as the network has ordered 278 new episodes of programming over the next two years.
