AceShowbiz - In an innovative move, pop star Halsey is involving her fans in the unveiling of the album covers for her upcoming LP, "The Great Impersonator." Starting on September 4, fans will embark on a global scavenger hunt to track down "time capsules" filled with items representing different decades, mirroring the album's confessional concept.
These capsules will be hidden in "very special locations" in London, New York City, Toronto, London and Sydney. By working together, fans will uncover the main album artwork and four variants. Clues will be released by Halsey on social media.
"My next trick is not mine at all. It's yours," Halsey said in a cryptic video announcing the hunt. "Don't blink... or you'll miss it."
The album, Halsey's fifth following 2021's "If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power", explores themes of identity and alternate timelines. "What if this isn't how it all went down?" Halsey asks in a trailer for the album. "Am I still Halsey every time? In every timeline?"
Halsey's return to music was marked by the release of "The End", a heartfelt letter to her fans detailing her experience with Lupus SLE and a rare T-cell disorder. Since then, she has dropped "Lucky", "Lonely Is the Muse" and will release "Ego" on September 6.
