AceShowbiz - Simone Biles is sending a heartfelt message to her husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens, as the NFL regular season kicks off. With only six days remaining until the Bears' matchup against the Tennessee Titans on September 8, Biles, 27, shared a touching tribute on her Instagram Stories.
Posting two Polaroid photos of her and Owens, 29, in front of a light blue wall, Biles wrote, "See you in a few weeks." Owens reciprocated by sharing the post on his own account, adding a heart emoji.
Despite ending her historic run at the 2024 Paris Olympics last month, Biles' schedule will remain occupied with her involvement in the Gold Over America Tour, beginning on September 16. The tour will showcase Biles and other gymnasts, including Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles and Hezly Rivera, performing "jaw-dropping athleticism and high-energy choreography with an inspirational message of hope, strength, resilience, and determination." It is scheduled to conclude on November 3rd.
Despite the distance during the NFL season, Biles and Owens have experience maintaining a long-distance relationship. Owens signed with the Green Bay Packers last September, shortly after they legally married in April and had a destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas in May.
"Right after Cabo, he went to Green Bay and signed, and two days later, he was up there, so it's been different," Biles said in an interview with Hoda Kotb on the Today Show. "At least we're both busy and focusing on our respective sports. It's been nice."
Owens expressed his admiration for Biles' unwavering support, saying, "I love watching [it] from an athlete's perspective because that's how you'd be great in any sport, is just being consistent and doing the same thing consistently good every day."
While Owens heads to Chicago for the season, Biles has already planned their reunion. It is likely that she may attend one of his games, as the Bears will travel to Houston for a matchup against Owens' former team, the Texans, on September 15th.
However, Biles has acknowledged that her post-Olympic duties will limit her attendance at Owens' games this year. The Gold Over America Tour will require her to travel and perform for numerous scheduled stops across the United States.
Despite their distance, Biles and Owens remain lovingly connected. Biles has shared glimpses of their "dream home" under construction in Texas, where she plans to oversee its completion during her own schedule.
