AceShowbiz - One year after parenting advice vlogger Ruby Franke and her podcasting partner Jodi Hildebrandt were arrested and charged with child abuse, their 19-year-old son Chad marked the anniversary with a post on Snapchat.
"Happy Prisonversary," Chad wrote, captioning a photo of his 42-year-old mother taken before her imprisonment.
The arrests occurred in August 2023 after Ruby's then-12-year-old son Russell, Chad's brother, escaped Hildebrandt's Utah home and asked a neighbor for help finding the police. Ring camera footage showed visible wounds and tape marks on Russell's wrists and ankles. A subsequent search of Hildebrandt's home revealed Ruby's 9-year-old daughter Eve in a similar condition.
In December, Ruby pleaded guilty to four counts of child abuse, and both she and Hildebrandt were sentenced to four to 60 years behind bars on February 20.
Chad, who had moved out of the family home prior to the incident, has made several social media posts about his incarcerated mother in the past year. In one Snapchat post, he mentioned Hildebrandt and posted a selfie with the caption, "A year ago today, I had just gotten off a phone call with Jodi and was going to work a lifeguard shift."
Chad's sister, 21-year-old Shari, also posted about the arrests at the time. "Me and my family are so glad justice is being served," she wrote on Instagram. "We've been trying to tell the police and CPS for years about this."
