AceShowbiz - A year and a half before [c-Brittany Cartwright] filed for divorce, Jax Taylor, 45, asserted that he did not believe in legally separating. In a 2023 interview, Taylor shared his views on marriage:
"I don't believe in divorce. My parents didn't get divorced. I don't believe in that. Marriage is work. I'm not saying every day is amazing.
There's good days and there's bad days, but that's marriage, and that's what makes your relationship stronger. We love hard. We fight hard. It's amazing."
Taylor emphasized that Cartwright, his wife at the time, was his "best friend" and the only person who could tolerate his difficult personality.
"I honestly can't imagine my life with anybody else. ... I'm a tough guy to be around, so it takes a certain person to deal with my crap," he said.
However, in February 2024, Cartwright announced their separation, citing a "rough year" and a need for space due to mental health concerns.
Nearly six months later, on August 27, 2024, Cartwright filed for divorce, listing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason. The filing requests legal and physical custody of their son, Cruz Michael Cauchi, 3, and visitation rights for Taylor.
Cartwright has also asked the court to terminate spousal support for both parties.
The divorce filing comes after Taylor completed a 30-day treatment in a mental health facility. Despite his previous stance on marriage, the reality star is moving forward with the separation from Cartwright.
