AceShowbiz - Sid Wilson, 47, sparked concerns among fans as he took to Instagram on Friday, August 23 to share the unsettling news of his injury. The musician revealed his hospitalization during an Instagram Live session from his hospital bed.
Wilson said, "I had an explosion in my face. I'm OK. I'm going to be OK, but I did have some serious burns to my face and my arms. I'm singed everywhere. Eyebrows are singed. My mouth is blistered. My arms [are] pretty bad. Both of my arms."
The incident occurred while Wilson was working on a burn pile on the Iowa farm he shares with his girlfriend, Kelly Osbourne. The explosion left him with second-degree burns across his face and arms. Kelly, who accompanied him to the hospital, warned, "This is why you don't f**k with burn piles. He literally set himself on fire [and] exploded everything."
Wilson's injuries included singed eyebrows, blisters on his mouth, and extensive burn marks. The doctors took X-rays of his chest to ensure he had not inhaled any flames. Despite the trauma, Wilson remained hopeful and assured his fans he would recover swiftly. "Thank you to everybody for the get-well wishes," he said, adding humorously to a fan, "got my eyebrows done for free" and assessing his injuries as "cheap Botox."
Slipknot later issued a statement via social media, "Our brother Sid Wilson was in an accident today and sustained burns across his body. He's recovering with his family and will still join us on stage at Rocklahoma next weekend. He thanks everyone for the well wishes, and will see you all soon."
Wilson's determination to return to the stage is echoed by his own words, "I'll see you soon," promising to join his bandmates as Slipknot resumes their "Here Comes the Pain" tour. The band is set to perform at the Rocklahoma festival in Pryor, Oklahoma, on September 1, followed by the second leg of their tour commencing on September 7 in Auburn, Washington.
In the midst of his recovery, Wilson remains dedicated to his music and his fans, emphasizing the resilience and passion that has solidified Slipknot's place in heavy metal history.
