AceShowbiz - During the fourth and final night of the Democratic National Convention, host Jon Stewart acknowledged the speculation that Beyonce Knowles would make a guest appearance. However, much to the audience's disappointment, her presence never materialized.
"The anticipation was high tonight, not just for Kamala Harris," Stewart quipped. "But did they deliver?" he added, transitioning to a clip of Michigan Rep. Elissa Slotkin's introduction.
Despite the rumors, Beyonce's representative confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter at 10 P.M. ET that she was never scheduled to appear. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the rep said, "Beyonce was never scheduled to be there." They went on to stress, "The report of a performance is untrue."
The Washington Post similarlyrevealed that "DNC organizers have denied any rumors of a special guest." The media outlet noted, "A person who has spoken with convention organizers, including Ricky Kirchner, Stephanie Cutter, Minyon Moore, and Jen O'Malley Dillon, said there is no such special guest planned."
Meanwhile, Vice President Harris, accompanied by running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, accepted the Democratic nomination after a roll call on Day 2. The evening's entertainment included performances from The Chicks (national anthem) and Pink, who sang "What About Us" with her daughter.
Although Beyonce's absence was noted, Kamala Harris's speech inspired the crowd and ended the Democratic National Convention on a high note.
