AceShowbiz - Shawn Mendes has entertained his fans again after taking a break from music. At his recent concert, the "Treat You Better" singer admitted to experimenting with mushrooms during his music hiatus.
On Tuesday, August 13, the 25-year-old singer took the stage at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London, the United Kingdom. During the intimate show, he took his time to open up about his years-long break. Speaking to concertgoers, he confessed that he tried new things to figure out who he was.
Shawn told the audience, "I simultaneously really do know who I am, but I also have no f**king clue. I'm just figuring that out." He went on to recall, "I was going through a lot and exploring things. I don't know if anyone here has ever tried mushrooms but it's a crazy thing."
During the concert, Shawn also revealed that one of his songs in his upcoming album "Shawn" is inspired by his former girlfriend. He spilled, "There's new type of energy for everything. This is one of the first songs that I write about my ex," while keeping her identity under tight wraps.
The "I Know What You Did Last Summer" singer went on to explain, "And I'm talking about a lot of things that mean a lot to me. I hope you'll love it. This is called 'Passenger'. Here we go," prompting the crowd to cheer. He began singing the song while playing his guitar.
Although the name was not mentioned, many social media users believed that Shawn was referring to Camila Cabello. One in particular wrote, "I thought that mentioning your 'ex' at a concert is something obsessed according to @shawnmendes's fans, he can do it but Camila Cabello can't. LOL." Another added, "Literally he is just saying nice things. camila instead mentioned shawn to make fun of him which is really different."
After taking the stage, Shawn voiced his appreciation for his fans who showed up at the hour-long gig. Along with a series of photos from the concert, he wrote in the caption of the post, "London, thank you for trusting me with your evening! I love you x."
