Madix admitted that their bond has been strained, saying, "Yes, but there's a lot of love there and I think that will always be there."

Despite their recent challenges, Madix emphasized their ongoing affection for each other. She praised Shay's recent award for speaking out about her postpartum OCD, saying it was "really, really lovely."

In season 11, Shay sided with cast members who criticized Madix for not forgiving Tom Sandoval for his affair with Raquel Leviss. This caused a rift between Madix and Shay, which was further exacerbated by footage shown at the reunion of Brock Davies calling Sandoval a better friend to Shay than Madix.

However, Shay also defended Madix during the reunion, acknowledging the distance that had grown between them. "She's busier than she's ever been. Even before we started filming, I did feel distance," Shay said. She attributed their issues in part to Madix's decision not to watch episodes of Vanderpump Rules and her limited perspective from TikTok clips.

After the reunion taping, Ally Lewber reported seeing some tension between Madix and Shay at Coachella. However, more recent updates suggest that the duo are on the road to recovery. Shay's podcast co-host revealed that Shay and Madix were in "a good place" and "everything [was] fine."

Madix also spoke about her relationship with other cast members. She confirmed that she hasn't been in touch with Tom Schwartz since filming wrapped and that she has not played matchmaker for Katie Maloney, who has been rumored to be dating "Love Island USA" cast member Connor Newsum.
