AceShowbiz - Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher are reportedly planning to have another kid and they are apparently serious about it. The pair are said to be exploring adoption options after the singer endured multiple heartbreaking miscarriages in the past.
The "American Idol" alum and the former NHL star, who married on July 10, 2010, are already parents to sons Isaiah, 9, and Jacob, 5. "Carrie lost three babies during pregnancies before she had Jacob and she allegedly figured that was God's plan for her," a so-called insider tells Life & Style. "But Mike has been gung-ho about adding to their family, so they are going to bring another child into their home," the source spills.
According to a friend, the "Jesus, Take the Wheel" songstress "deeply appreciates" how her husband has taken the major share of parenting while she focuses on her demanding concert schedule. "Mike has had tons of offers to go into coaching and that appeals to him. But he figures his place is with his family - and not being away eight months out of the year during hockey season," the friend explains.
For now, Carrie is still committed to her Las Vegas residency. Once it wraps in October, the 41-year-old reportedly plans to take a break from performing and devote time to the complex adoption process.
"They've met with lawyers about it," the friend says of the couple's adoption plans. "And their boys are over the moon thinking about having a little brother or sister added to the family mix!"
Carrie was recently announced to return to "American Idol" as a judge for the upcoming season 23, which will premiere in 2025. She would replace Katy Perry, who exited the show after joining the judging panel since the 16th season in 2018.
