AceShowbiz - Parker McCollum, the 31-year-old country singer, and his wife, Hallie Ray Light, welcomed their first baby, a boy, on August 8. The couple made the announcement through a joint Instagram post on August 9, sharing the delightful news with their fans and followers.
"Major Yancey Tyler McCollum 8/8/24 [love]," they captioned the post, revealing their son's name and birthdate. The post included several photographs of McCollum and Light celebrating the arrival of their newborn, both in the hospital and later at home, even introducing their baby to their dog.
The couple's joyous news was met with an outpouring of congratulations from fans and fellow country music stars. Priscilla Block, known for her hit "Just About Over You," commented, "HALLIE, Why do you like a damn model after giving birth. I mean WOW!!! Congrats to y'all both! Can't wait to meet baby major."
Megan Moroney, another country sweetheart, added, "Congrats yall!!!!!" McCollum himself left a heartfelt message for his family in the comments, stating, "Mom & Dad forever. I love you Hallie Ray and I love our Major Man!"
The announcement of their baby's arrival comes just months after McCollum and Light shared the exciting news of their pregnancy in February 2024. In a joint Instagram post at that time, the couple stood by the ocean, with McCollum kissing his pregnant wife as she cradled her belly. "God's little blessing. We Iove you so much already, Baby M!" they wrote.
McCollum and Light's love story has seen its share of ups and downs. They split briefly at the end of 2020 but rekindled their relationship by February 2021. Reflecting on their breakup, McCollum told PEOPLE, "for some goofy reason," they had parted ways, but he soon realized life wasn't right without her. They got engaged in 2021 and tied the knot in March 2022 in Tomball, Texas.
"I couldn't wait to ask her to marry me," McCollum told PEOPLE about their engagement. "There was no backup plan and no hesitation. I didn't overthink one thing. I was like, 'It can't get any better than her.' There was no doubt in my mind that I was making the right decision."
As they embark on this new chapter as parents, McCollum and Light have shared their joy and love with the world, making it clear that their journey together is filled with gratitude and excitement.
