AceShowbiz - Joshua Malina and his wife have gone their separate ways. It was unveiled that Melissa Merwin has filed for divorce from the "West Wing" star after nearly 28 years of marriage.
In her filing obtained by TMZ, Melissa cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split. She's seeking for the actor to pay some spousal support.
Melissa, however, wasn't looking for child support or a custody agreement as their 2 children are adults. The costume designer did not list a date of separation.
Joshua and Melissa first met in 1992 via Melissa's sister Jennifer and former brother-in-law Timothy Busfield. The two got married in 1996 and now share 22-year-old Avi and 26-year-old Daisy.
Despite being together for almost three decades, the now-exes mostly kept their relationship out of the spotlight. Still, the actor sometimes shared a few rare posts of his wife.
In July 2022, Joshua unleashed a picture of his then-wife during a hike. He captioned it, "Happy bday to my Maine gal, and the love of my life."
Marriage aside, Joshua is also best known for his roles on "Scandal", "Sports Night", "In Plain Sight" as well as "The Big Bang Theory". He has also guest-starred on numerous TV series like "American Horror Story", "Shameless", "This Is Us" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" among others.
In 2023, Joshua returned to the Broadway stage, where he made his debut in 1989, with a starring role in Leopoldstadt. This fall, he will make his stage debut in London in "What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank", which will run from October 4 until November 23 at the Marylebone Theatre.
