"I'm inclined to agree," said Quaid, acknowledging his privileged upbringing and the early representation he received. "I'm grateful for the opportunities that have been open to me."

However, Quaid is determined to prove his worth beyond his family's legacy. He has deliberately chosen roles in genre storytelling, from his debut in "The Hunger Games" to his breakout performance as Hughie Campbell on "The Boys".

"I don't want to just step into my mother's rom-com space," Quaid said. "It has to be something different."
