AceShowbiz - Congratulations are in order for Huma Abedin and Alex Soros. On Wednesday, July 10, the former top Clinton aide and the investor announced their engagement by sharing a picture from their proposal.

In the snap posted on the lovebirds' Instagram account, the 38-year-old could be seen getting down on his knee in front of the 47-year-old in a scenic location. "this happened," so read the caption. "we couldn't be happier, more grateful, or more in love."

According to Vogue, Alex popped the big question to Huma in May at home in New York City before they headed to Italy for a formal celebration. The duo told the magazine they met in the fall of 2023 at a mutual friend's birthday party, "where they quickly discovered their mutual interests in politics and public service."

Huma was previously married to U.S. Rep . Anthony Weiner, who was involved in various sex scandals during and after his time in office and failed mayoral run. The former couple shares son Jordan together.

As for Alex, he is the son of 93-year-old billionaire George Soros, and the chairman of Open Society Foundations (OSF), the $25 billion grant-making foundation founded by his father. He previously served as president of his father's super PAC for two years.

Before dating Alex, Huma was linked romantically to Bradley Cooper. They sparked romance rumors after they were allegedly spotted kissing on a bagel date in Amagansett, New York in July 2022 and the "American Sniper" actor was hosting an intimate gathering at his home on her 46th birthday.

However, representatives for both Bradley and Huma denied the dating speculations. "Huma was in upstate [New York] all weekend and abroad immediately before that, so that can't be true," a rep for Huma told Page Six. A rep for Bradley added, "They are good friends - this isn't true. Bradley was in New York."
