AceShowbiz - In a new candid interview, Sharon Stone revealed the devastating aftermath of her 2001 stroke, which resulted in a nine-day brain bleed. While stepping away from Hollywood during her recovery, Stone lost a staggering $18 million in savings due to "people taking advantage" of her. Despite the financial setback, she made a conscious decision to let go of bitterness and anger.
"I decided not to hang onto being sick or to any bitterness or anger," Stone said to The Hollywood Reporter. "If you bite into the seed of bitterness, it never leaves you. But if you hold faith, even if that faith is the size of a mustard seed, you will survive."
The stroke had a profound impact on Stone's brain function, changing her sense of smell, sight and touch. She also experienced difficulty reading for several years. "Things were stretched and I was seeing color patterns," she recalled. "A lot of people thought I was going to die."
Stone's experience led her to a new perspective on life. "I live for joy now. I live for purpose," she stated. She believes that embracing positivity and finding meaning in her existence have helped her overcome the challenges she faced after the stroke.
Despite initially hiding her disability, Stone has since become more open about her journey. "I wanted to pretend that I was just fine," she admitted. "But I'm become more comfortable with publicly saying what's really happened to me."
Stone's resilience and unwavering spirit serve as an inspiration, demonstrating that even in the face of adversity, it's possible to find strength and rediscover purpose in life.
