AceShowbiz - Tana Ramsay, the wife of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, has revealed that she still suffers from significant guilt and grief after losing her son Rocky seven years ago. In a miscarriage at 20 weeks in 2016, Tana was forced to endure the unimaginable trauma of holding her newborn baby knowing he would not survive more than an hour.
"I still suffer so much guilt," Tana shared on the "Postcards from Midlife" podcast. "Did I, should I have known something? Should I have done something differently?"
The loss of Rocky has left an unfillable void in Tana's heart, and she candidly admits that it is an experience she will never overcome. Even their young son, Oscar, now asks about his "brother in the sky," reminding them of the bittersweet memories that linger.
Despite welcoming Oscar and a baby boy named Jesse, Tana struggles with guilt for not feeling as sad about Rocky as she believes she should. Gordon Ramsay has been a constant source of support for Tana throughout this difficult journey, recognizing that grief can be an unpredictable and ever-changing emotion.
Tana emphasizes the importance of open communication in dealing with grief. She encourages others not to avoid difficult conversations and to offer support and compassion to those who have experienced miscarriage.
"If anyone said to me, 'Oh, I'm so sorry,' it actually was really nice to hear," she said. "You don't want people to avoid it, or I didn't."
Tana and Gordon Ramsay are parents to six children: Tilly, Megan, Jack, Holly, Oscar, and Jesse. They have found solace in their family and in honoring Rocky's memory by naming their home in Cornwall after him and wearing pieces of jewelry engraved with his name.
