AceShowbiz - Emma Roberts, known for her work in "Space Cadet" and "American Horror Story", has expressed her desire to collaborate with her iconic aunt, Julia Roberts. In a recent interview with Variety, she revealed that she has been fielding project pitches for the duo, but the perfect fit has yet to materialize.
"I would love to find the perfect project for me and my aunt, and I know that there will be something," Roberts said. "But it's never been the right thing. She's the best, and I want to do something with her."
Roberts, whose father is Julia's brother Eric, has always been an admirer of her aunt's work. She often watches Julia's movies on set and finds comfort in them. In fact, Emma has an uncredited role as "Girl in Purple T-shirt" in Julia's film "America's Sweethearts."
Despite their familial connection, Emma and Julia have not yet shared the screen in a major project. They did appear separately in the 2010 romantic comedy "Valentine's Day".
Roberts admits that she has faced some challenges navigating the world of nepotism, but she is determined to make her own mark. She rejects the notion that fame is her ultimate goal, acknowledging the potential pitfalls it can bring.
"Fame has never been the goal," she said. "Because fame at a certain level is kind of scary... when you've seen fame like that up close and you see what that really does to people [and] their families."
Emma's latest project, the sci-fi extravaganza "Space Cadet", has received mixed reviews. However, her desire to collaborate with her aunt remains strong, and she believes that the perfect opportunity will present itself eventually.
