AceShowbiz - Kate Beckinsale had a Fourth of July to remember this year. The 50-year-old actress, famed for her roles in films like "Underworld" and "Van Helsing," found herself in a whirlwind of emotions caused by her beloved Pomeranian, Myf, fleeing from fireworks in Beverly Hills.
Beckinsale took to Instagram to share the distressing incident, posting a plea for help, "Myf has gone missing if anyone finds her in the Beverly Hills area please can you DM me thank you so much." Fortunately, just an hour later, she shared the good news that Myf had been found.
However, the rescue mission wasn't without its challenges as Beckinsale suffered a knee injury in the process. "Jesus effing jeffing Christ we found her. @joe_rome out here saving everybody," she captioned a video showing her friend dabbing at her bloody knee while Myf lay safely wrapped in a pink blanket.
Despite the relief of finding her pet, Beckinsale candidly expressed her frustration and pain in a follow-up video, "She's back, ow, I really hurt my knee… Myf you f****** scared the s*** out of us. F****** July 4, Joe… Jesus Christ." She humorously confronted Myf on camera, asking, "What do you have to say for yourself?"
Beckinsale further explained that the fireworks had scared Myf into running away, mentioning her late cat Clive's indifference to such noises, "I think when Clive was here Clive didn't give a s*** about fireworks, so Myf also didn't give a s***."
This heightened drama comes in the wake of personal losses Beckinsale has faced recently. The actress marked the one-year anniversary of Clive's passing with a heartfelt Instagram tribute on June 12. "Fly high my best angel on your one year anniversary. Oh my heart Clive I miss you. Not a soul like you. Love of my life," she wrote, sharing a montage of cherished moments with her feline companion.
Reflecting on Clive's death last year, Beckinsale had described her pain as immeasurable, "Clive has died. I don't have it in me to make a montage or even look at pictures of him yet. Every single part of my house feels like he should be in it." Her emotional post captured the bond she shared with her cat, showing a photo of her cuddling Clive, who was wrapped in a pink blanket adorned with pig designs.
Through all the chaos and emotional moments, Beckinsale's resilience and candidness continue to resonate with her followers, offering a poignant reminder of the deep connections we share with our pets.
