AceShowbiz - Tom Guiry was taken into custody on Sunday, June 2 after allegedly throwing a dumbbell at the windshield of a white Jeep, cracking the glass on the passenger side. Video footage obtained by TMZ shows Guiry engaging in this act and later brandishing a knife while ringing a doorbell.
According to Horry County Sheriff's Office records, Guiry was arrested on charges of assault and malicious injury to personal property. He was booked on June 2 and released the following night.
Prior to his recent arrest, Guiry had a previous run-in with the law in 2013, when he was arrested in Houston for allegedly head-butting a police officer after being denied boarding a flight due to intoxication.
Guiry made his film debut in "The Sandlot" in 1993, playing the protagonist Scotty Smalls in the ensemble baseball comedy. While the film initially had a modest box office performance, it has since become a classic, with two direct-to-video sequels and a planned legacy sequel streaming series.
Following "The Sandlot", Guiry appeared in a series of films in supporting roles, including "Black Hawk Down", "Mystic River", "The Revenant" and "Ride with the Devil". He also had a recurring role on the short-lived NBC drama "The Black Donnellys" and guest appearances on shows such as "Law & Order", "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", "CSI: Miami" and "Elementary". His latest acting credits include "Killin Smallz" (2022), in which he played a fictionalized version of himself.
The motive behind Guiry's alleged actions prior to his arrest remains unknown. Law enforcement has not provided further details, and a representative for Guiry has not responded to requests for comment.
