The actress's ordeal began in early May when she was admitted to St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver for a medical emergency. Tragically, while allegedly being escorted within the facility, Mamie fell from a balcony walkway. Her mother, Nicole, confirmed that the fall was not a suicide attempt and placed the blame on the hospital for possible negligence. "This is an absolute miracle and there will be accountability," she remarked.
Despite being on life support and needing sedation to remain still during her recovery, Mamie has undergone several extensive surgeries. The grueling procedures included two 11-hour operations, further surgeries lasting three hours, and additional interventions as needed. Her family expressed their gratitude towards the medical staff for their dedicated care.
As Mamie continues to fight for her life, her family remains hopeful for her recovery. Nicole Rockmann emphasized the importance of Mamie's resilience, "All we care about is that Mamie can make a recovery and that she's alive and that she's fighting and that she's strong. It's unbelievable that she's with us."
Providence Health Care, which operates St. Paul's Hospital, stated that they cannot comment on patient-related matters due to privacy policies but assured that an internal review is being conducted to improve patient safety. "Our hearts go out to the patient, family, and all affected by this event, and offer our best wishes for a full recovery," said a spokesperson.
