AceShowbiz - Jenny Mollen has stepped out after she went under the knife for a major makeover. The actress and author was spotted in an outing for the first time on Monday, June 3 in New York City, nearly a month after she got a "mommy makeover."
On Mother's Day in May, Jenny candidly documented on social media. Joined by her mother, Peggy Mollen, who also received procedures, Jenny shared behind-the-scenes clips and updates on her journey.
Mollen opted for a breast lift, fat transfer to her under-eye area and chin liposuction. Peggy underwent a lip lift and fat injections in her hands. The duo described their decision as a "Mother's Day makeover" and emphasized the importance of supporting women's choices regarding their bodies.
In a video shared before the surgery, Mollen stated, "Women in their mid-40s are doing things, okay? A lot of women. More than you know." She explained that she wanted to share her experience as a "fun romp" and encouraged viewers to "watch or don’t watch, but please, save the comments."
Post-surgery, Mollen shared videos detailing her recovery, including bruising on her face. She also posted a photograph of herself and her mother in pajamas, recovering at the Gansevoort hotel in New York.
Mollen's transparency extended beyond her surgeries. She previously shared a nude photo on social media and has openly discussed her Botox use. She has stated that while she believes in empowering women through cosmetic enhancements, she emphasizes the importance of mental health and self-acceptance.
Despite societal pressures, Mollen and her mother embraced their fashion-forward spirits by attending a sample sale soon after their procedures. They sported matching post-surgery face wraps, proving that even during recovery, the pursuit of style and confidence cannot be deterred.
Mollen's journey highlights the ongoing conversation surrounding beauty standards, aging, and women's autonomy over their bodies. Her candidness and support for other women serve as a reminder of the complexities and challenges faced by those navigating the intersection of personal choice and societal expectations.
